This brief focuses on Africa to illustrate just how limited our approaches are toward organized crime, both in terms of how we define it and try to counteract it. The brief ultimately concludes that Africa should follow Latin America’s example and establish a hemispheric approach to cope with the problem. As in other parts of the world, pursuing national-level approaches are just not comprehensive enough.
