This against-the-grain commentary argues that the construction of the Iasi-Ungheni pipeline will not end Moldova's dependence on Russian gas. That liberating moment, it concludes, will not happen until the Gazprom-controlled Moldova-GAZ, which is the country’s sole importer of natural gas, is split up.
