This paper looks at the rights of migrants across the Dominican Republic and Haiti. The authors examine the impacts of the 2010 Haiti earthquake on migration and the obstacles to and opportunities for developing a rights-based agenda for vulnerable cross-border migrants. They also look at the increasing difficulties faced by descendants of Haitian migrants in the Dominican Republic and provide a set of recommendations to help advance the rights of migrants and their descendants across the island.
