This paper discusses China-Myanmar relations - with a particular focus on strategic and economic connections between the two countries - and the implication of these for Myanmar's future. The author says that China is Myanmar's most important trade partner and one of its most important investors. However, she also argues that Myanmar’s political transition, hostility within the country toward China, and unresolved ethnic tensions have affected the relationship.
