This paper presents the main findings of a working group on food security tasked in 2012 with reviewing the pressing challenges to agricultural development and food security. It takes stock of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and suggests ways in which the organization could improve its performance. The report has two core messages for the FAO: shift to focus on global public goods and improve your institutional governance.
