This brief examines the development of transitional criminal justice in Bosnia-Herzegovina and what improvements can be made. The authors argue that the major hindrance to political and social progress on the matter has been the lack of broader regional cooperation and considerations for the non-judicial aspects of the process. Among other recommendations, they suggest an EU-backed regional transitional justice strategy which encourages greater dialogue between the former countries of Yugoslavia as well as addressing divisive recollections of past events by presenting a balanced view of history in the education system.
