This paper first examines Iran’s relations with Pakistan, Afghanistan and other nations in South Asia. It then looks at how their ties are being affected by water scarcity, ethnic insurgencies, drug trafficking, and the current sanctions regime against Iran. Finally, the piece focuses on what the US and others should do to help solve these problems.
