This paper examines India's perspective on the future of Afghanistan and Pakistan, as well as the role the US, China and other nations will play in these two states. In particular, it looks at India's position on political stability and economic prospects in Afghanistan, as well as its interests and role in the country, and its relations with Pakistan. It says that while the situation in Afghanistan might turn out to be less threatening than expected, this could not be said for Pakistan.
