This paper looks at developments in the relationship between the UK and China. It analyzes the economic relations between the two countries in the context of the change of economic leadership in China. Additionally, it looks at the UK's diplomatic relations with China concerning issues of democracy and human rights, and considers the role the UK might be able to play in attempting to influence the Chinese Government in this area.
