This paper analyzes the functions of militant Salafi ideology within the context of radicalization. The author examines the threats emanating from Salafi-Jihadi extremism and provides recommendations on how best to counter them. The paper outlines the general entry points and 'strategic openings' available to the international community for tackling the problems associated with Salafi-Jihadi radicalism.
