Publication

This paper examines China's system of social management, political control and public security as well as how parts of it are being transformed. In particular, it looks at the different ministries and bodies that make up the system; social stability and how local governments maintain it; the changes taking place in the People's Armed Police; and the reform of China's criminal procedure law.
