This paper features chapters examining 21st century Asian security policy. It is divided into two parts: the first examines how US military deployments, strategy, and alliance relations have affected developments in Asia; the second discusses the dynamics of Asian regional security without according the United States a privileged role. Special attention is given to the security policies of a number of countries, including North and South Korea, China, Japan, and Russia.
