This brief discusses the prospects of reaching a solution to the Syrian conflict at the January 2014 Geneva II peace talks. The author examines the positions of the Assad regime and the opposition in the run up to the talks and presents six points he believes will have to be taken into account if the Geneva II peace talks are to be successful.
