This report examines the environmental concerns caused by mangrove depletion in developing countries in Africa, with a particular focus on Mozambique. The author argues that dealing with the impact of mangrove depletion will require longer-term strategies by governments as well as the development of new tools and approaches applicable to Africa and easily understood by policy-makers.
