This paper argues that if Yemen does not prioritize economic reform, it could undermine its democratic transition process and may witness renewed conflict. The author argues that strong political will is needed to effectively rebuild the economy and restructure the country. To accomplish this, pressure from both domestic and external actors is needed, as is the active engagement of the international community.
