This report discusses the perception of state failure and fragility in South Asia in the context of the 2013 Failed State Index (FSI) report. In particular, the authors examine the major contributing factors for state failure in the region as well as how the FSI defined failure and its assessment of countries, especially with regard to Bangladesh, Nepal, India and Sri Lanka.
