This paper argues that security sector reform (SSR) and small arms and light weapons (SALW) programming needs to be integrated more closely together. Such a lash up would leverage scarce resources more effectively, and invigorate existing peacebuilding processes. To help reach these ends, the text’s authors provide a variety of concrete and innovative recommendations to enhance the natural synergies that exist between SSR and SALW.
