This paper talks about South Korea's "creative economy" agenda, a significant part of which focuses on the importance of fostering innovation in the country, and US-Korea economic relations. The author says that Korea's creative economy agenda reflects a growing consensus that the country's future growth depends on its ability to become a global leader in developing new products, services, and business models. For it to succeed, the author argues, the Korean government must address regulatory, structural, educational, and cultural obstacles that have constrained innovation in the country.
