In this interview transcript, the University of Washington's Karen Liften attempts to link the practice of international relations with ecology-minded conceptions of nature, scarcity, and the interconnectedness of natural and human systems. In doing so, she also contemplates how to reconcile theory and practice, and – necessarily – secularism and mysticism.
