This policy brief looks at the crisis of IMF governance reforms and its troubling implications for global economic governance. It specifically points to disagreements between emerging market economies and Western states over remaining imbalances in power. The authors argue that the Western governments are putting the multilateral nature of the IMF at risk and should make a commitment to shift a greater share of voting power towards the emerging market economies.
