This paper talks about North Korea's economic and foreign policy, its impact on the country, and the increasing role of the Korean Worker's party on the nation's internal and external affairs. The author argues that since coming to power, Kim Jong-un has been steadily building a new system of governance, giving more power to the Korean Workers’ Party apparatus at the expense of the armed forces. He also says that Kim Jong-un has shown interest in boosting North Korea’s economy, but that in the short term the country's uncompromising foreign and security policy will probably not change.
