This bulletin talks about the European Commission's climate and energy package for 2030, announced in early 2014. The package calls for a 40 percent reduction in greenhouse gases and a 27 percent EU-wide allocation for generating renewable energy. The author states that this is only the first step towards a new framework for 2030 and that detailed proposals will follow, subject to the support of all EU member states. She also looks at Poland's position on the climate and energy package.
