This paper talks about the EU's external action and the way it is affected by the Union's methods of accommodating the differences between its member states' socio-economic and political interests in its policy, constitution and legal framework. In terms of areas of external action, the authors particularly look at the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) and the external dimension of the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (AFSJ).
