This conference report summarizes the discussions held at the Nuclear Energy Experts Group Meeting of the Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific. The first part of the report looks at the global nuclear safety and security regimes and argues that the concepts of the two are increasingly converging, which means that countries will have to remain alert on both fronts. It then examines how Asian organizations and initiatives can enhance nuclear safety and security on the continent.
