This commentary looks at the economic and foreign policy successes Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has had since he took office. The author however also worries that Abe's recent shift to the right, as shown by his controversial visit to the Yasukuni Shrine in December 2013, may cause problems with other countries in the region and ultimately may threaten the leader's legacy.
