This paper looks at the rise of Islamic finance in the world. More specifically, it looks at the principles guiding Islamic finance; the contemporary boom in Islamic financial assets; the growing popularity of the “Sukuk”, an Islamic financial bond; and the part Islamic finance plays in the US.
