This paper presents a case study of a project to raise the awareness about torture and Cruel, Inhumane and Degrading Treatment (CIDT) of non-nationals in South Africa in 2012. It outlines the history and background of the project, the formation of the project action group, the challenges encountered in forming this group, and the activities undertaken by the group to raise awareness about torture and CIDT. Additionally, it discusses the problems encountered by the group when raising awareness in diverse communities.
