This note examines the legal agreements governing the United States Visiting Force in the United Kingdom, which are based primarily on NATO agreements. The author outlines the arrangements and contributions of these US forces in the UK, and the limitations set by NATO's Status of Forces Agreement of 1951 (SOFA) and the Visiting Forces Act of 1952 as well as their respective extensions.
