This paper contains a compilation of commentaries regarding China’s establishment of an Air Defense Zone (ADIZ) over the East China Sea in November 2013. The commentaries bring out multiple aspects of the ADIZ and are entitled ‘Air Defence Zone and Brinkmanship’, ‘Cold Confrontation with the US?’, ‘Assertive Unilateralism’ and ‘Political Objectives and International Responses’. Additionally, two retired Indian officers provide their analysis of the issue from a military perspective.
