In light of the shrinking international presence in Afghanistan, this paper first assesses the EU’s role within the country since 2001, particularly when it comes to politics, aid programing and police reform. It then concludes by making a number of recommendations on how Brussels might want to operate in a post-2014 Afghanistan.
