This policy brief examines the development of the Brazilian economy since 2004 and determines what reforms are required for further progress. The authors argue that in order to overcome the deceleration of economic growth, Brazil needs to adopt parallel strategies focused on improving domestic development as well as deepening international engagement through new trade strategies.
