This report examines the extent to which the original demands of the Arab Spring protestors have been met. To do this, the authors examine the success of the transitions in the Arab Spring countries in six areas: political polarization, constitution-drafting processes, transitional justice, economic progress, civil society freedoms, and the future of political Islam. They then argue that while the transitions have fallen short of expectations, there is still a strong indigenous commitment to democratic change.
