This paper compares the political protests in Kiev in early 2014 and the Orange Revolution in 2004. To do so, the author provides an overview of the political events taking place in the Ukraine in 2004 and 2014 as well as the diverging political interests of the Ukrainian government, government opposition groups, Russia and the EU. She then provides recommendations on how the international community could assist in finding a peaceful solution to the crisis.
