This commentary offers a macroeconomic overview of the state of the Ukrainian economy in early 2014. According to the author, large amounts of foreign financial assistance as well as structural reforms are needed to get the Ukrainian economy back on track. The author also outlines how Poland could and should assist Ukraine’s long-term economic development through consultation and organizational support.
