This analysis initially wonders whether Indonesia will emerge as a significant foreign policy actor in the near future. It concludes that given its population size, location, and economic potential, the country is destined for a more prominent global role, but that will happen later rather than sooner. Even if the Indonesian people want the government to pursue a far-reaching foreign policy agenda, which appears to be the case, the resources just aren't there yet to put it into action.
