This paper discusses what the author terms the "ongoing Russian military intervention into Ukraine" and specifically into Crimea; Ukraine's response; as well as what these developments could mean for other countries in the region with large numbers of Russian speakers. The author also discusses what Western states and NATO can do to respond to Russia’s actions.
