This paper argues that China has taken a cautious position towards Russia's intervention in Crimea in early 2014. The author argues that Beijing wants to remain neutral and maintain good relations with both Russia and the West in the hope it will receive the same response in case of a similar crisis in China. Despite this neutrality, she goes on to say, the EU and Poland should maintain regular contact with Beijing as they look for a solution to the crisis in Ukraine.
