This bulletin 1) analyzes the growing number and types of media restrictions being put by China on foreign and domestic sources, 2) considers their possible effects on US interests, and 3) identifies potential responses that Washington might pursue. The latter could include 'visa reciprocity' and linking media freedom to investment and trade negotiations, but both options have their own drawbacks.
