In light of growing calls to reduce CO2 emissions worldwide, this bulletin argues that Poland has the incentives and capacity to become a leader in clean coal technology development (CCT). After reviewing coal consumption levels worldwide, increasing pressures to cut them down, and existing CCT, the author advocates for Poland to adopt a leading role in the development of these technologies. In the final section he suggests actions the Polish government should take to more actively support the development of CCT in the country.
