This paper examines China/Japan relations, arguing that China is running an anti-Japan campaign. It suggests that since Japanese Prime Minister Abe's controversial visit to the Yasukuni Shrine in December 2013, China has mobilized its media and diplomatic resources to vilify the Prime Minister in an attempt to damage Japan’s international status. This campaign, if continued, the author says, may hurt Japan to some extent but could also backfire against China by undermining the respect other nation have for the country.
