This monograph explains how China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is revising its information operations doctrine to meet what it sees as the new mode of “integrated, joint operations” for the 21st century. More specifically, the author explains how the PLA is constructing a comprehensive information operations doctrine based on a combination of psychological warfare; influence of public opinion, or media warfare; and the manipulation of legal arguments to strengthen China’s diplomatic and security position.
