This issue features a collection of papers on federalism in India as well as the role the federal states play in shaping the country's policy towards its neighbors. Among other issues, the articles consider topics such as 1) the implications for domestic and electoral politics of India's federal system; 2) national political parties' approaches towards the different regions of the country; 3) the different perspectives of India's foreign policy within the country's regions; and 4) whether there are differences between aspirations of particular regions and the country's national interests.
