This paper looks at skepticism and concerns within Germany about the planned Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the EU and US. It explains that although the TTIP could bring Germany higher exports and faster growth, opposition has grown due to controversies over standards of production, consumption, and protection of investors. The author suggests these concerns could postpone or even block the completion of the negotiations, which he sees as an unfavorable scenario. The author also contends that Germany's reluctance is of particular concern to Poland as Warsaw hopes to slow down the United States' attention drifting towards the Pacific hemisphere.
