This commentary evaluates the Hungarian government's attempt to increase the country’s economic attractiveness through its "Eastern Winds Doctrine" policy. More specifically, the author analyzes how the policy will improve economic cooperation with China and Russia and further Budapest’s principle of non-interference. The author concludes that although there have been some successes, both the political and economic benefits of the program are in fact quite difficult to estimate.
