This brief discusses how Russia’s annexation of Crimea could potentially affect Moscow's foreign relations with the EU and the US. It also looks at how the West views Russia and questions if the Kremlin really wields as much power and influence as it is perceived to. Finally, it outlines how the intervention in Crimea could influence Russian-EU-US joint cooperation in the Syrian peace talks and the negotiations over the Iranian nuclear program in 2014.
