This paper gauges the depth of the cultural-political divisions within Ukraine, with a particular emphasis on the country's linguistic divisions. While there is a correlation between the preferred language of individuals and their political views -- including their foreign policy perspectives -- it isn't true that those who prefer to speak Ukrainian or Russian represent two distinct cultural-political communities. Indeed, such a characterization would be an oversimplification and could be dangerous for the future well-being of the country.
