With the UN's Millennium Development Goals approaching their expiration date, this paper mulls over different ways to define and set ‘aspirational yet attainable targets’ for the 2015-2030 period. Additionally, defining what's attainable could be done for groups of countries rather than individual ones, thus avoiding data gaps and coherency problems.
