This commentary analyzes the ongoing socio-political turmoil in the Central African Republic (CAR). More specifically, it reviews 1) the present state of governance within the country; 2) the nature and agendas of the parties battling for power; 3) the humanitarian crisis afflicting the general population; 4) the objectives, roles and capabilities of the international missions within the country, including that of EUFOR RCA Bangui; and 5) Germany's options for engagement in the CAR.
