This note discusses the activity of the British Parliament during WWI as well as the number of troops sent from the British Empire and Dominions to the conflict. The author first examines a number of parliamentary debates and statements which took place in August 1914 regarding the outbreak of war as well as legislation that was enacted by Parliament during the war. She then provides a brief overview of the support given to Britain in its war effort by Australia, Canada, New Zealand, India and South Africa. The author also mentions the British Government’s program to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the war.
