This paper scrutinizes the diplomatic and strategic implications of Russia’s annexation of Crimea in early 2014 for the Middle East. It looks at how changes in Russia’s relations with the West following the annexation affect the Middle East in general as well as how the events in Crimea could affect the behavior of Israel, Syria, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Iran.
